Aups 500m above sea level is located at the gates of Verdon in the foothills of the Alps.
Located 60km from the sea and 80km from the ski resorts, the city lives in a very healthy Mediterranean style.The vegetation is composed mainly of Aleppo pine, holm oak and downy to the truffle and olive trees in the plains.
From 700m above sea level on the Alpine mountains north of the town, the pines, scrub, bushes and Kermes oaks thrive.
The town is built in the Parc Naturel RĂ©gional du Verdon since 2000.
Aups is just the beginning of your discovery of the Verdon gorge before the beautiful villages and Bauduen Salles sur Verdon but also a great little town and as Riez enjoys shopping builds upon where to find what you need to be without difficulty. We urge you to visit the town on market days during the period May-June when an explosion of scents reminding you reach the best markets of Provence.
The best course is to stay in the village for the day to visit but if you are not of those who love watching stones, then you'll always get the possibility to enjoy the beaches of Sainte Croix Lake at about 15-20 min Aups.
